Lidia Schapira

Dr. Schapira is the Director of the Cancer Survivorship Program at the Stanford Cancer Institute and Associate Professor of Medicine at the Stanford School of Medicine. She is an active clinical oncologist who specializes in the care of women with breast cancer and her research interest is in the psychosocial aspects of cancer medicine throughout the illness trajectory. She has published multiple articles and championed communication skills learning for cancer clinicians through novel workshops. Dr. Schapira serves as Editor-in-Chief of the America Society of Clinical Oncology’s website for the public, Cancer.Net and is the Consultant Editor for “Art of Oncology” in Journal of Clinical Oncology. She has collaborated broadly with international colleagues and cancer advocates to improve the lived experience of patients with cancer and family caregivers.
