The delivery of cancer care is complex and typically involves multiple phases of care, including handoffs between specialist teams. Understanding the needs of patients and family caregivers is essential for the design of customized supportive interventions. New technologies provide opportunities for improved access to health information, as well as for communication between patients and members of the oncology team. We will discuss various clinical scenarios that provide opportunities for testing interventions using novel approaches and technologies.
