Dan Worthley

Associate Professor Dan Worthley, MBBS(Hons), PhD, MPH, FRACP, Beat Cancer Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide, Flinders University and SAHMRI. Medicine (graduated 2000 University of Adelaide), Gastroenterology training (Flinders medical centre, completed 2006), PhD in the epigenetics of colorectal carcinogenesis from (University of Queensland 2010), post-doctoral fellow at Columbia University NY (2010-2014) studying the biology of connective tissues in cancer (2010-2014). I worked in the laboratories of Professor Timothy Wang and Professor Siddhartha Mukherjee. In 2015, I published some of my post-doctoral work in Cell 2015, concerning connective tissue biology within the bone and the bowel. My program is currently dedicated to identifying, validating and then translating new discoveries into clinical practice focussing on organoid growth and analysis, preclinical mouse models of bowel cancer and the contribution of the tumour microenvironment on bowel cancer development and management.
